Caledonian College Of Engineering, established in 1996 is a successful, fast-growing private college, which currently has a total strength
of 350 students of which 250 are enrolled on its five Glasgow Caledonian University Engineering Diploma programmes and 100 potential
engineering students on its Foundation Studies programme. The college has recieved the final approval of the Ministry of Higher Education
in November 1998, the first private engineering college to achieve this distinction in the Sultanate of Oman.

The college offers two-year programmes leading to award of University Diploma from Glasgow Caledonian in:
Electronic Engineering
Civil Engineering
Mechanical Engineering
Computer Engineering *
(* Approval awaited from GCU and Ministry of Higher Education)
The University Diplomas are equivalent of UK HNDs and succesful students gain direct entry to the third year of Degree and Honours
Degree programmes at Glasgow Caledonian University. The Degree requires one further year of study whereas the Honours Degree requires two.
