Mechanical Engineering deals with the conceptualization, design and development of mechanical systems. It involves installation and maintence of equipment like pump, turbiens. machine tools, refrigirators and air-conditioners, pressure vessels and other machines. Mechanical Engineering is the back bone of all engineering disciplines and it scope is vast, encompassing many emerging engineering fields such Mechatronics and Computer Aided Engineering.

  • Analytical Methods I:
    A fundamental course in engineering mathematics relavant to mechanical engineering.

  • Electrical Technology I:
    A fundamental course involving analysis of circiuts, transformers, 3-phase supply and electro-magnetic theory.

  • Information Technology:
    Designed to impart fundamentals of computer software, operating systems and engineering graphics.

  • Engineering Science:
    Designed to provide basic concepts of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics and dynamics.

  • Engineering Application:
    Develops good basic skills in measuring systems, mental joining processes, fabrication and pneumatics.

  • Manufacture & Materials I:
    Basic principles underlying the application and processing of materials and requirements of manufacturing systems.

  • Mechatronics l :
    Deals with the principles of electro-mechanical control systems, transducers and their applications.

  • Computer Aided Engineering:
    Provides skills for design analysis, development and drafting of mechanical systems in an IT environment.

  • Engineering Design and Analysis l :
    Study of pumps, fans, duct and pipe work systems, refrigeration, combustion and the various means of heat transfer.

  • Mechanical Engineering Design and Analysis :
    Deals with machine mechanisms, design and analysis of mechanical processes and equipment.

  • Manufacture & Materials II :
    Provides skills in heat-treatment of metals and alloys, machine tool design and manufacturing techniques.

  • Case Work and Design Studies:
    Provides skills in design and development, fabrication and testing of mechanical systems.
